In 1859 Mr. Thomas Manker gave two acres of his land for a cemetery and a small log church which became known as Falling Creek Baptist Church. At the time the Village of Alligator was nearby in what is now known as Lake City in Columbia County, and that area was in Suwannee County. He built the church himself, perhaps with some help from other members of the community. The structure he built was used until the church became defunct near 1872. The first and only pastor of Falling Creek Baptist Church was Reverend Kinsey Chambers from around 1859 until 1872.

Researching an unmarked grave at the Chambers Cemetery. This grave is derelict and holds the remains (which is exposed) of a small child believed to be around 18-24 months old. All the pertinent information can be found on Facebook under Friends of Chambers Cemetery. I have researched census records and of course “Find a Grave” but have been unsuccessful. The remains are scheduled to be re-entered after the original site is reconstructed. They would like to mark the grave with the name and information of the deceased child. Do you know if any church records or Bible records exist for a child who passed within the chamber’s family at the age of 18-24 months?
I apologize for missing your comment. It’s been a long time since I’ve worked on this site.
I wish that I could help you but I know nothing about the Chambers family or the Chambers Cemetery.
Of course, I wish you well in your endeavors.
